Known as Grant Wood Country, for it’s native son, Grant Wood, Anamosa is the County seat of Jones County.  In the 2010 census, the population of Anamosa was 5, 533.

Anamosa is home to the National Motorcycle Museum, J & P Cycles Retail Store, the Anamosa State Penitentiary and the Wapsipinicon State Park.
